A fun project focussing on geometric abstraction. On entering the studio you will need to climb through a spiders web of string. Once at your easel you will see in front of you how the converging lines of string break up your view of the still life. Working in collage, learn this, and other techniques of Picasso’s & Braque’s cubist abstraction.

Over two sessions, working from direct observation of the figure, learn the textured paper collage and charcoal techniques of Alison Lambert. Use 'Google' on the internet to see her work in detail, particularly the fascinating multi layered aspect of the collage.

A workshop observing the traditional subject of fruit, but from an unusual perspective. Learn how to work expressively incorporating the slight movements of the hanging still life, using pencil, charcoal, compressed charcoal, graphite, candle wax and watercolour wash.

Learn the mono-printing technique of ‘transfer printing’ used extensively in Paul Klee’s paintings. Working with designs based on patterns found in nature. (Bring in examples to work from during the workshop. I can also provide examples)
